FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MagPortal.com Makes Free Feeds Available to Web Sites
BRYN MAWR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 2000--Free data feeds now available
on Hot Neuron LLC's http://MagPortal.com
site allow web site owners to place current magazine article listings on their sites.
MagPortal.comSM has implemented data feeds which allow web site
owners to display its most recent article listings from over 200
categories on their sites. With only a few minutes' time and no
programming experience, site operators can browse the categories
at MagPortal.com and obtain a small piece of HTML code to insert
into their web pages providing an automatically-updated listing
of article links for their area of interest. The colors, fonts,
and other parameters of the feeds can be adjusted for clean
integration with any site. Feeds are available in JavaScript,
XML, and RSS formats. In contrast to Moreover.com or
iSyndicate's Express service, the MagPortal.com feeds include
brief descriptions of the articles and links to find similar
articles.
"The free feeds create stickiness for web sites by providing
them with quality, current information that is targeted to their
users," according to Bill Dimm, the founder and CEO of Hot
Neuron LLC. The feeds cover over 200 topics that range from
business to politics, entertainment, technology, health, and
sports.
MagPortal.com is a content aggregator providing links to free
online magazine articles on a broad array of topics from many
publishers. It provides a full-text search engine and a
directory where each article is categorized so that a user can
easily find articles on a particular topic regardless of where
they were published. The site also features a weekly newsletter
that highlights the most interesting recent articles.
MagPortal.com normally adds new articles to its index within one
business day of their publisher putting them on the web, while
generic search engines can take weeks to index a new web page.
Another advantage is its ability to sort results by date.
MagPortal.com was recently ranked seventh on SquirrelNet.com's
Top 20 Search Engines list, placing it above Yahoo!
Hot Neuron LLC, an Internet software and services company
located in Bryn Mawr, Pa., owns and operates MagPortal.com.
